Why wait for high capacity Internet access

Category: Bonding | Internet

Companies are regularly looking at ways to reduce costs and with property rents in cities continually going up, even during the recession, many are looking at ways to move to cheaper locations out of city centres as well as find better working environments for staff. Unfortunately these moves are often limited by a lack of high capacity Internet access with only low bandwidth connections available in more rural locations.

Now companies have an alternative, using 3G Internet access they can pretty much base their business anywhere but up until now capacity has still been an issue. The advent of simple to install 3G bonding solutions means that companies can aggregate existing low capacity ADSL connections with 3G connections to multiply bandwidth and have high quality connections with built in failover at a fraction of a cost.

Businesses can make significant financial savings when they move to a rural location as they no longer have top pay for infrastructure upgrades. By simply plugging in the ADSL connection along side the 3G connections bandwidth can be bonded together for increased capacity.

Next time you are looking at an office move or even setting up your own business you can now look out of the city centre thanks to 3G Bonding.

Bonded ADSL Predicted to be Hot in 2009

Category: Bonding | Internet

Comms Business Magazine state that 95% of the UK's ISP's will start following OFCOM's code of practice removing the much lothed term "up to" which traditionally accompanies broadband speeds at the point of purchase.

With 21CN services on the brink of being launched nationally and Virgins new 50Mbps service set to spark the next wave of speed increases across the board, users are set to enjoy an ever increasing acceleration of Internet access.

In order to compete with Virgins offering, many ISP's are turning to Bonded ADSL as a way of provisioning a competative product. This is great news for Xrio Partners who are poised to benefit from increased customer knowledge about this subject.

Growth of Bonded DSL

Category: Internet | Internet

As the need for high-speed Internet continues to increase in demand and media coverage, there seems to be an emerging interest amongst ISPs and organisations for Bonded DSL Internet.

Even though it has been available for some while, Bonded DSL Internet is really now making more of an impact especially in the UK, where customer demand for bandwidth is rapidly increasing and ISPs are under pressure to deliver faster Internet speed. Furthermore with the never-ending plans over the UK telecommunications infrastructure, there is a need for an instant solution – and filling that void for a growing number of customers is Bonded DSL Internet.

Bonded DSL Internet is already available in the UK and also in the USA. Despite the high Internet speeds that are possible, not all organisations and areas unfortunately have the high-speed Internet availability they urgently need and Bonded DSL Internet is a convenient and simple solution.

However, Bonded DSL Internet is not just an alternative to people that have slow Internet access, it is also an ideal solution for even those with an existing high-speed (or any speed) Internet connection. Rather than relying on a single connection, it is crucial for organisations that rely heavily on the Internet to have a back-up connection to ensure business continuity.

This back-up connection can not only provide failover for a continuous Internet service in the event of the outage, but instead of leaving the bandwidth redundant, it is possible to bond both connections to combine the bandwidth for an even higher bandwidth capacity to enhance audio/visual quality and increase speed for downloads and uploads. Organisations from SME’s, branch offices, education institutions and Government departments are taking advantage of Bonded DSL Internet to achieve high speed Internet. Xrio recommend that any organisation that relies heavily on an Internet connection to implement and ensure an alternative back-up Internet service to add redundancy to their existing connection.

Whereas some providers are limited to Bonded Internet solutions due to connections, with the Xrio UBM, organisations can bond any combination of Internet connections regardless of differences in bandwidth speed, ISP, type of connection, and cost of connections.

Should ISPs be clearer about advertising Broadband?

Category: Internet | Internet

Over the last few years there has been rising concern amongst customers in regards to Broadband advertising content. This in particular is in reference to the speed that is provided by various Broadband connection packages.

Speed performance is one of the key factors in a customer’s decision to purchase a Broadband connection. However, is this being communicated clearly and accurately to customers?

Due to the mismatch in advertised and actual broadband speed, many customers are left disappointed by the speeds they expect before and receive instead after they purchase a Broadband contract. From a customer’s point of view they are not receiving value for their money and are tied into their contract.

The Broadband market is very competitive and Broadband providers do compete on the speed performance of their service. However, for customers that are not educated about the Internet some of the advertisements may be viewed as being misleading.

There are a number of factors however, that are not in the control of the ISP to enable them to ensure that customers receive the service they pay for. This includes the usual problems of distance from the exchange, poor equipment, and contention rates.

Other factors that may put off customers include the whole technical jargon and sales “truth” that customers usually face. Both of these can affect the customer from making an informed purchase decision.

If a full effort is made from the ISP side then customers should be informed how far they are from their local telephone exchange and what other factors can affect their Internet performance levels in non-technical terms prior to purchase. Communicating this with customers then allows them to understand the service better and bridge the gap between levels of expectations and disappointment.
